Where can I park at the Phoenix Convention Center?

A Parking Map can be found here. Attendees should use the West Building Garage or the North Building Garage. Average daily parking rate is $12 and can be reserved online. Note that the online reservation system only accepts 30 days in advance. Parking info can be found here.

When can I access the exhibit halls?

For move-in, please refer to the install schedule on the Exhibitor Resources page.

On event days, exhibitors will be allowed in the Career Fair and Interview Booth halls one hour prior to opening.

Is WiFi available to Exhibitors/Sponsors?

Complimentary WiFi is available in the public spaces at the Phoenix Convention Center, such as the West Building Atrium, South Lobby Area, & North Food Court. If you require WiFi at your booth space, please refer to Exhibitor Internet on the attached PDF.

I’m bringing a vehicle for display in my booth. What steps do I need to take?

First, please review the vehicle display regulations from the Phoenix Convention Center. Second, contact [email protected] and let us know. We will work with you and your team to schedule a targeted move-in date/time.

My company is exhibiting at WE19 in Anaheim the week after the SHPE National Convention. What are my options for shipping?

Save time and money on outbound shipping with Freeman exhibit transportation’s caravan option.  Your shipment will deliver direct to the Anaheim Convention Center to arrive on the general move-in date. Please refer to page 32 of the Exhibitor Service Kit for details.

Where do I upload my company profile information for the mobile app?

We are using Map Your Show as our Exhibitor Management Tool for this year’s convention. Login now to add your company profile details. If you need your login details, feel free to contact us @ [email protected] and we would be happy to provide them.

The exhibit floor plan is constantly changing based on sales activity, changes in exhibit space size, etc. It is the Exhibitor’s responsibility to monitor the online floor plan. What is included in registration?

When do I need to arrive to be included in the competitions?

All SHPE competitions at National Convention begin the evening of October 30, 2019. You must arrive on Wednesday to sign up for the competition of your choice. Competition registration will be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

What are Hospitality Suites?

Hospitality Suites are company-sponsored and offer a more relaxed setting to network with recruiters and enjoy light refreshments. Many attendees report that attending Hospitality Suites resulted in interview opportunities, either on the spot or during the Career Fair. A Full Convention pass is required to attend.

I got invited to an event, but it is sold out. Is there a waitlist?

Once an event reaches capacity, there is no waiting list available. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis pending availability. Ticket holders will forfeit their seat if they do not arrive 10 minutes before the start time. We encourage you to join us in the standby line 15 minutes before the event for an opportunity to attend.

How do I register for the Career Fair?

We no longer offer Career Fair-Only tickets. Your Full Convention ticket includes access to the career fair. If you are an exhibitor or want to exhibit, please email [email protected].

Where can I find a list of Career Fair participants?

We have over 250 exhibitors which consist of Fortune 500 companies, colleges and universities, start-ups, and engineering firms. As these exhibitors sign up, they will be added to the exhibitor floorplan.

Why should I upload my resume?

Over 250 corporate and government partners are seeking top talented STEM graduates. The majority of companies are pre-screening candidates through our portal and scheduling interviews that take place during the convention. Be sure to upload your updated resume on the career portal. Our partners are looking for students and professionals.

Where do I upload my resume?

You can upload your resume at the SHPE Career Center.

Should I bring hard copies of my resume?

Yes, it is always handy to have extra copies on hand. You never know who you will meet at the convention! We also offer a Resume Room sponsored by Lockheed Martin where you can meet with a representative to get your resume critiqued or print out extra copies of your resume.

When does online registration open?

Registration opens June 5, 2019.

How do I register?

Attendees must register through SHPEConnect. A free SHPEConnect account is needed to register for convention.

I registered and do not see a record of my registration in SHPEConnect. Am I registered?

Once you complete the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email that you have successfully registered for convention. To receive another copy of your confirmation email, please send a request to [email protected].

I recently renewed my membership through SHPEConnect and I am still seeing Non-Member rates when attempting to register. What can I do?

Please allow up to 1 hour for SHPEConnect to sync with our registration portal and try again. If you are still encountering issues please email [email protected].

Are the registration prices subject to change?

Early Bird pricing will be in effect until 11:59pm PT on August 31. Regular pricing will be in effect until 11:59pm PT on September 30. Starting on October 1, the Late/Onsite pricing will be in effect.

When does registration close?

We have 3 registration periods:
Early Bird: June 5 – August 31
Regular: September 1 – September 30
Late: October 1 – Convention Start

Online registration will remain open through convention and will close on Friday, November 1.
Onsite registration opens on Wednesday, October 30, at 3:00 PM and will close at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 2.

Are we able to submit a bulk registration?

Yes, if you are requesting 5 or more Convention registrations please submit request here.

Are any meals included in the registration?

No meals are included in your registration.

When and where can I pick up my registration materials onsite?

Registration materials can be picked up at onsite registration. Badges will not be mailed.

Do I have to be a member to register for the National Convention?

While we encourage you to become a member and enjoy the benefits that SHPE has to offer, we do offer non-member rates for the convention.

I can’t find my confirmation email I need it to be reimbursed. How can I get another copy?

We would be happy to resend your receipt. Please send your request to [email protected].

What is the refund policy?

Any request to cancel registration must be received in writing to [email protected].
Cancellations on or before October 1, 2019; 50% of the registration will be refunded.
Cancellations after October 1, 2019; no refund will be issued.

I am no longer able to attend the convention. Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Registration transfers may only be done between members of the same chapter. The deadline for registration transfers is October 1, 2019. Please email [email protected].

I am a Lifetime Member and I get discounts on National events. How do I get the discount code?

SHPE Lifetime Members are eligible for 10% off Convention registration. Please email [email protected] for your registration discount code.

This is my first time attending the convention. I’m not sure when I should arrive and when I should leave.

Take a look at the agenda and see what you’re interested in. All competitions begin on Wednesday, but the majority of our programming begins on Thursday morning. The Career Fair ends at 4:00 PM on Saturday. If you are attending the STAR Awards and/or the Saturday Fiesta, we recommend flying in Wednesday night and flying out Sunday.

What time can I check in to the hotel?

Check-In is typically after 3:00 PM; Check-Out is typically before 11:00 AM. Please check with the hotel where you made your reservation.

Will there be shuttles for hotels not within walking distance of the Phoenix Convention Center?

All SHPE hotels are located within walking distance of the convention center.

Which airport should I arrive at?

Is there a train station I can arrive into?

Unfortunately, Amtrak does not go through Phoenix.

How do I register my company as an exhibitor?

The first step in confirming your organization’s sponsorship level is completing a commitment form and sending it to our sales team at [email protected]. Then we will send an invoice via email and in the following weeks send details regarding booth selection and convention logistics. In October, we will open our registration portal for your organization to register attendee(s) individually. One contact per company will register all attendees.

I signed up with a professional registration. Am I set to recruit for my company?

Yes, but only during posted attendee career fair hours. Individuals with a professional registration badge will not have access to the Career Fair and Graduate School Expo Floor or Interview Booths during move-in or pre & post show.

I have an IPC/Exhibitor Career Fair Only Registration, what do I have access to?

Career Fair Only Registrations have access to the Career Fair and Graduate School Expo and the Interview booths during move-in and during the allotted hours.

I have a Full Convention Registration, what do I have access to?

Full Convention Registrations have access to all of the convention programming except for ticketed events.
